A BOY KING!
Hi children! During the past summer our new wee nephew was born down in Wales. He is called Josiah, after a boy in the Bible. This is his story.
Josiah was a little boy. He was a Prince, the son of the King of Judah, over 600 years before Jesus Christ was born. His grandfather had been King for many years before he died and then Josiah's father was King for two short years. He wasn't popular and his officers killed him. Then the people made Josiah king in his father's place. But Josiah was only eight years old.
Do you
think a wee boy of eight could be a king? He would still be at
school and after school he would want to play with his dog and
with his pals. But do you know children, that little Josiah was a
very wise young boy, indeed? Do you know how? Yes.. well read on.
Do you
know kids that Josiah's grandfather and his father were not very
good kings at all? In actual fact they were both very bad and
wicked kings. Instead of setting their people a good example by
obeying the LORD, these two men worshipped gods made of wood and
stone called idols. They also did many other wicked and evil
things and were not good men at all. But do you know children
that young as he was, Josiah made up his mind to be different.
"I'm not going to be like my father or grandfather," he told himself, "I'm going to follow the LORD and be a good King."
Hey kids, you don't have to be like everybody else. You can be like Josiah and be different. You can follow the Lord Jesus Christ.
"Don't become partners with those who reject God" 2 Corinthians 6 v 14.
PRAYER
"Dear Lord Jesus, please show me that I don't have to be like everybody else. Show me that I can be different. I can make up my mind to follow You. Amen."
What a wonderful God Jesus is!
